Usually, I am voting against the Republican. This time, I voted for the Democrat |
|
I feel odd. Let's win this thing and put the national eight year nightmare to bed as a bad, distant memory!!!

2. For me it's about 50/50. |
|
But that 50 is a higher "for" ratio than normal. :D

3. Not me. I KNEW Gore would be a great President. I KNEW Kerry would be the best open government |

president this nation ever had as his record on exposing govt. corruption and advocating for open government is clearly unmatched by any lawmaker in modern history.
I supported Obama because he has said he will be for open government. I am counting on him to be true to his word.
That you didn't KNOW enough about Gore's character and his devotion to the environment to be glad to vote FOR him says to me that you never researched his positions and his personal achievements and record, apart from Clinton.
That you didn't KNOW enough about Kerry's amazing achievements in uncovering and exposing more government corruption than any lawmaker in modern history.... enough to be excited to HAVE a truly open government president in the WH, that's just SAAAAAD!

4. I don't know how old you are |
|
but you must not have done your homework in previous years. We've had some damn fine Democrats on the ballot in recent history - Clinton, Gore, Kerry, I was proud to vote for them all just as I was proud to vote for Mr. Obama this year. I should probably just let your comment go especially today, but sorry, I just can't.

6. How nice that you 'tolerated' the one man who blocked this nation's march to fascism |
|
more than ANY OTHER SINGLE LAWMAKER of the last 35 years.
This nation would be in its second decade of Full-on Fascism by now if Kerry hadn't uncovered IranContra and BCCI, the illegal wars in Central America and CIA drugrunning.

8. Dean is a great DNC chair. He never wowed me as a presidential choice as he supported IranContra |
|

policies at the time, not much of a surprise as many centrist Democrats did at the time, including Gov. Clinton, but, Dean's support was in a much more benign way as a governor insterested in policy and JUST on the policy, not as an active part of protecting BushInc on those matters as Clinton did.
You may think those 'old' matters don't matter, but, to make it clear, had IranContra and BCCI matters been fully exposed, there would never have BEEN a Bush2 presidency possible, nor a 9-11 event, nor an invasion of Iraq.
Maybe you don't know how close to full-on fascism this nation has been over the last few decades. They certainly don't teach real history in school, that's for sure. You have to seek out the truth on your own - take a month and study government reports in the National Security Archives. You may end up with a different view of heroes and villains and patriots.

10. I said "Maybe'....but, it strikes me that anyone who couldn't vote FOR the one lawmaker |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 09:50 AM by blm
who blocked that fascist march couldn't have learned much about what serious matters were actually IN those government reports as many poli-sci classes don't jump into that deep-end.
If your school did, that's great, but, you are the one who claimed you didn't vote FOR Kerry. Hard to imagine ANYONE who studied these government reports just 'tolerating' the best open government advocate this nation has seen in four decades.
Do you know WHY we were allowed to even KNOW about the CIA's PDB memo of August 6, 2001, re Bin Laden? Because Kerry (on his own with NO help from Dem powerstructure) kept forcing Bush1 to court for document disclosures during his BCCI investigation. The same Kerry who YOU 'tolerated' but couldn't vote FOR.
