Part of me is sad that the election season is almost over
Granted, a very small part, but still...

I've always followed elections closely, but never have I been so emotionally invested in a candidate. For the first time in my life I felt so strongly about a political candidate that I volunteered for a campaign. I met some great people, both out in the real world and here on this board. I've bugged the shit out of my family preaching about how important this election is. I've driven myself crazy watching the ebb and flow of the daily tracking polls. I've practically lived on this message board over the past two months. And starting today it's coming to an end. At least until the next election.

I'm very, very excited about today... but a little bit sad too. Am I the only one who feels this way?

1. Oh GOD no! I'm happy as HELL it's almost done!
For the past two weeks I've felt on the verge of passing out!

I can't wait for all this to end!

:D

2. I understand what you are feeling
And I suppose, on some level, I feel the same way.

Right now, however, all that is being drowned out by the excitement of election day!

I'll be glad to be able to breathe easy for a while ...just take a break from the whole election season madness.

5. You're crazy! :)
I can't take the tension anymore! I am going to be so, SOOOOO relieved when this election is over!

On top of the election driving me crazy, our new house has been held up over a month -- an extra month of living among stacks of cardboard boxes in a crappy temporary between-homes apartment -- and that's finally about the end this week too.

Looking forward to having my life back by the end of this week. :)

6. not. me!
i know what you mean, but i'm so damned ready for the lies and manipulation and the propaganda to be OVER. I'm SO ready for the gears of an Obama presidency to start turnin, the wheels to start BURNING RUBBER!

yesterday, I asked a neighbor if she was voting, and she said she's not registered (okay, i MISSED one!!! I've been working on people, and she wasn't available before the registration deadline...). we started talking and she went on and on about how "if obama is elected, the cost of everything is going to go up," which of course I had to SMACK right down, and how "obama is some other nationality and that scares me," had to smack that down too...

but unfortunately, people believe what they want to, because she was obviously rejecting everything i said, although she said, after discovering i was a dem (there are only three of us in our "village") that she likes obama better than mccain...though she didn't even know which was republican and which was democrat and what republican and democrat "even stands for." (...boy did i EVER miss one)...

she continued, and i felt like i was in the twilight zone. the number of my neighbors who believe the lies and bs about obama, the myths about republicans and taxes makes me utterly nauseated.

and i just responded to a poll on a local news website (http://www.wwltv.com/) and was OVERWHELMED by the nonsense i saw spouted about the candidates- the first one read, "i'm votin mccain because i don't think he'll hand out welfare chex to ppl who don't deserve them and he won't dismantle the military like obama!"

:eyes: :wow:  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

7. I know what you mean
I have great feelings about the election and can't wait until it's over but it will leave a big void in my life.
