Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, et al...prepare to see your hate-mongering careers come to an end |
|
sometime during the next 3-5 years because Barack Obama's message of hope and unity is going to trump your filthy message of fear and division.
I'm predicting that by the year 2013, none of you will have a job or be able to sell another filthy book again because the people just aren't going to listen to your divisive bullshit for very much longer.
I am so looking forward to the day that each and every one of you rotten Right Wing hate-filled scumbags never makes another penny again by spewing and pedalling such hatred. That day is definitely coming much sooner than any of you assholes think. You can still talk out of your ass, but the time is coming when nobody is going to listen to you fuckwads any longer, so prepare for your eventual demise, Limbaugh, you lard-assed hate-filled drug-ridden DESPICABLE BLOWHARD!!

Most of the Hate group got their start hating on Clinton, who was more popular than Saint Reagan. These people pitch hate to the hate crowd. The kind of crowd that hates balanced budgets, winning wars, checks and balances and sex.

I for one believe that Limbaugh, et al, will have very few followers after Obama's message of unity gets through. It won't happen tomorrow, but it will happen.

His ratings and income soared during the 1990s when he could whine, wail and gnash his teeth over 8 years of peace, prosperity and a budget surplus.
I live in deep deep red territory. These people are not going to be washed away by unicorns and rainbows. They will continue to rage.
But, I think that this is a historic day and I look forward to washing the neo-cons out of power.
I voted at 6 this morning and it felt really really really good.

That in itself gives me hope, Jacobin, that his message of hope and unity will get through to enough naysayers that they'll get sick of hearing fear and divisiveness from Limbaugh and his ilk. :)

I'm putting some expectations on the general public that they'll buy into Obama's message of unity enough that enough of them won't bother with Limbaugh's message of divisiveness that it will put him out of business in due time.

Obama will set a new tone in the country and advertisers are going to go where they get the most bang for their bucks. Fear mongering has made these morons popular and fear mongering will come to an end when Obama is president.

|
All the hatred and divisiveness they spewed over the last 4 years failed to prevent Obama from being elected. People are already starting to override Limbaugh's message of fear and hatred with Obama's message of hope and unity.
What worked for Limbaugh so well in the 90's may never work so well again because almost everyone is smart enough to see the results of what happened when they listened to Rush's bullshit. They've been taken for a ride.

These scumbags thrive on being the unpopular victims. For all the shit they may say about "victim mentalities", they are the biggest offenders. And with Obama and a Democratic-led legislature, they will find victimization easy to come by. "Oh woe is my lardass," yells Rush. "I'm surrounded by socialists and liberals." And there will be a fringe audience who feels the same way always willing to lend an ear to these cretins.

I even posted last week that an Obama victory would probably mean more money for the hate-mongers, but upon thinking it over, I re-nig on that and am thinking that the hate-mongers audience is going to grow much thinner under an Obama presidency because of his message, not in spite of it.

Yup, that pretty much sums it up.
Limbaugh's message has done nothing to get another Republican elected, so not a single Republican listener of his can say that Limbaugh helped keep Obama out of the White House.

I believe that them being in the opposition will actually help their ratings.
During the Clinton years, the RW talk radios really took off and flourished.
During the Bush years, it was the turn of the LW talk radios took off, even if they were handicapped by lower advertising revenues (for partisan reasons).

They can't wait for an Obama presidency. Can you imagine how hard it has been having a Republican president in office and still trying to stir up controversy to discuss? They're thinking they can do their shows with 5 minutes of prep time. It will be a 4-year vacation for them.

|
IF WE'RE LUCKY, they will lose their power to influence the general political climate of this country over the long term. But the segment of the American population that thrives on hate and ignorance, and gives Limbaugh and Coulter their audience, is not going away.
Sorry, but you are horribly naive. I'm going to guess that if you'd been around in the '60s, when the Civil Rights movement was in full swing fighting for the rights of blacks, you would have gloated that the segregationists, Jim Crow supporters, and neo-Confederates were finished. Wrong! They didn't go away. They morphed into the current GOP base that fuels the careers of Limbaugh, Coulter and Hannity.
The lumpen part of our population isn't going away anytime in the foreseeable future.

Don't forget it was during the Clinton years when OK City happened, and another nutcase sprayed the White House with automatic gunfire, and another RW-idiot flew a small plane into the White House (barely missed it and he died on the scene). These are the types Rush and Co. preach too.
