My manager sent this email to me using company email address>>>
Notice to All Employees of (NAME REMOVED)

As of November 5 , 2008, when President Obama is officially elected into
office, our company will instill a few new policies which are in keeping
with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness:

1. All salespeople will be pooling their sales bonuses into a common pool
that will be divided equally between all of you. This will serve to give
those of you who are underachieving a 'fair shake.'

2. All low level workers will be pooling their wages, including overtime,
into a common pool, dividing it equally amongst yourselves. This will help
those who are 'too busy for overtime' to reap the rewards from those who
have more spare time and can work extra hours.

3. All top management will now be referred to as 'the government.' We will
not participate in this 'pooling' experience because the law doesn't apply
to us.
4. The 'government' will give eloquent speeches to all employees every
week, encouraging its workers to continue to work hard 'for the good of
all.'

5. The employees will be thrilled with these new policies because it's
'good to spread the wealth.' Those of you who have underachieved will
finally get an opportunity; those of you who have worked hard and had
success will feel more 'patriotic.'

6. The last few people who were hired should clean out their desks. Don't
feel bad though, because President Obama will give you free healthcare, free
handouts, free oil for heating your home, free food stamps , and he'll let
you stay in your home for as long as you want even if you can't pay your
mortgage. If you appeal directly to our democratic congress, you might even
get a free flat screen TV and a coupon for free haircuts (shouldn't all
Americans be entitled to nice looking hair?) !!!

If for any reason you are not hap py with the new policies, you may want to
rethink your vote on November 4th.

41. I would still ask them if they think it is appropriate for a manager to
...send e-mail like this on company time and identifiers.

You could act like you are concerned for the company, which
I would be if I worked there....

11. i'd definitely bump that one upstairs. probably send it to local media outlets, too.
i'm on a number of right-wing wacko email lists and got one this morning saying that because obama's going to raise corporate taxes, etc., there will have to be layoffs. so they'll go through the parking lot and see who has obama stickers on their cars and they'll be the first to be laid off.

the silliest thing about this, to me, is how they assume all business owners and executives vote republican.

12. I had something similar happen at a past job.
Our CFO sent out a pro-Bush email to everyone using his work account. HR wasn't able to do anything because of his high rank in the company.

Your best revenge is to vote Obama and watch him bitch and moan when his candidate loses.

And if so, will he take a picture of his cock and send that out in a email too? But...

I know the it's not a good idea.

Well, I'd say, "Am I supposed to be amused?"

Nah, again too snarky.

Hmmm.... Howzabout a simple reply of "Funny" and reply "ALL"?

Brevity is the gift that keeps on giving.

16. Since it's from a company address, you could forward it to someone in Legal
Unfortunately, this would probably just be passed off as humor (even in court), and the most anyone would get is a slap on the wrist for abusing company resources, if that.

Since he's not specifically advocating you to vote for any one, there's not much you can do except quietly call him a douchebag and delete it.

Just wondering, and trying very hard not to go all nutso today. Right now listening to New Age music and about to go light an aromatherapy candle.

You could always keep that to yourself the above makes no sense in relation to their policies. Since even if you voted for McCain you'd still be following this pool if Obama won. Why would you waste your time on it.

31. all employees have at one time or another discussed politics
at work. It turns out, that as the McCain campaign crumbled, this manager, along with the staff on his side of the store became increasingly angry and desperate. Then he sent me this email...only me.

My dad says they'd never say that I'd be let go because of my politics. They'd merely lay me off, or cut my hours significantly...and there'd be nothing I could do about it.

27. hit delete and polish your resume. It's not true, so it's nothing to worry about
except that it shows that your boss is an asshole.

If you work for a corporation, bump it upstairs with a complaint. It sounds like you work for a company that is independently owned by right wingers, so making a stink will do you more harm than good.

I have no advice to you, other than... find a new job. If all the higher ups are idiots like this... This is why I work for myself, I KNOW the boss is a Democrat. I am totally amazed that anyone could actually be intelligent enough to run a company, and stupid enough to send out that email to employees.

37. Send it to HR, HOT anonymously, then start talking to them
about how much of a settlement you're willing to accept without going to court. That's a gross violation of employment standards. I know people who walked away from jobs with several years of salary in a negotiated settlement for that kind of thing.

Not to say that would happen for you, but even the most conservative HR folks will see that for what it is.
