CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) — Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama cast his ballot Tuesday morning at his polling center in Chicago.

Obama walked in with his wife, Michelle, and their two daughters. The Illinois senator shook hands with poll workers as he signed in. He and Michelle Obama then cast their ballots in side-by-side booths as their daughters looked on.

He will head to Indiana later in the day for a campaign stop and a traditional game of basketball, which he played on every day of his Democratic primary wins.

Just before 9 am EST, 8 am Chicago time, Barack Obama and wife Michelle, joined by daughters Malia and Sasha, cast their votes for president. Looked relaxed, Obama greeted fellow voters and joked with his family. Robert Gibbs was also with them, waiting by the door.
