An email from my Dad

My father is a recently retired union coal miner in WV. He usually voted Democrat, but this time I wasn't sure which way he would go. Racism runs deep in that part of the country. My Dad is a good man... but like a lot of good people in southern WV, he can be racist. It used to break my heart whenever he would go on one of his hateful rants.

Yesterday I sent him an email talking about the long lines for early voting here in Florida. He just wrote me back...

"Voted early last week. There were no lines. In the last 40 years I have never waited in line , WV. I guess. I voted for Obama. Some people are not ready for a black person to run this country, but I think this country needs a change."

:wow: Consider me shocked. I'm so happy right now I could cry.
