I Just Changed My Avatar
For as long as I've been here, my avatar has been the image of a great man, the Honorable John Conyers. Rep. Conyers is a true patriot and has done as much as he could to hold the Bush Administration accountable. He has been instrumental in exposing the lies that led to the Iraq war. He has been extremely influential in bringing about change.

But today, I will change my avatar to the Obama theme I Voted Logo.

And tomorrow, I will change it to a new image: that of another great American hero who has radically brought about change already: Barack Obama.

Obama has already changed our government for the better. And there is no doubt he will be able to effect more positive change in our Federal government as President. But Obama has brought about a much more difficult kind of change: he's changed the hearts and minds of American people.

He's brought about a level of civility that has not existed in politics for decades.
He's radically changed how campaigns are funded and how they engage everyone.
He's brought about the idea that it is just fine to have hope in a better America and a better World.
He's even changed the minds of literally millions of Republicans and many more independents.

Obama has touched America's heart in a way only he could: calm and strong leadership with a contagious smile and words that actually are spoken with true intent and heartfelt belief that we can come together as one nation to solve our problems.

Yes, I, like tens of millions of other Americans, have a new hero. And his name is Barack Obama.
