1. Ronald Reagan would be turning over in his grave.
And he can do that, because he's much thinner now.

2. The GOP is going to swing waaay right after this election.
Palin will be their anointed savior; they will put her on a pedestal and pray at her feet.

7. I hope so - she is far less competent than Huckabee
Who has a down-home populist charm that covers his radical policies.

9. umm, no
The far-right will become more harsh and vocal, trying to maintain their claim on the GOP identity.

It won't work.

There has been massive backlash against that nonsense from moderates who are less interested in all the culture war non-sense than they are on sound government, sound fiscal policy and less cowboy foreign policy.

12. Yup! Charlie Cook on Charlie Rose said yesterday
that the repugs are played out and they need to get some new ideas, if they don't they will be sitting back just waiting for the tide to change if the Dems make a mistake ( won't happen) in another words, the best they can do is go in if the game turns their way, but they got nothin' to lead with for now.

21. I think part of the party will indeed do that ...
which will cause the party to splinter and become even more irrelevant than they would be without Palin for the fundies to rally around. It's going to be really interesting to see what happens.

and, St. Ronnie was not exactly a member of Mensa.

13. I go to the dark side
when I watch Fox. They go on about that old Ray-gun like he is God. I couldn't stand the old fool when he was president. He could sometimes read Peggy Noonan's scripts really well but he also kept forgetting his lines. His wife had to whisper to him to remind him NO he wasn't on a submarine in WW2 but it was a shitty movie he was in, stuff like that. He got this country in a deep financial mess as well. But republicans are like that. They get all turned on by words that make them feel brave and patriotic. Bugger the outcome!

Smiling blithely unaware she is totally inadequate as was Reagan. Republicans like to say all the good things in life are bad and stem from FDR. If you listen to authority Reagan is the absolute beginning of the end of America as we knew it. He didn't know beans but smiled and plied aphorisms of faith in fraudulent Con values and the Great Perfect world he deluded himself a place in. Too bad it was sunset for America and Plain will be the dark hours thereafter.

I really hope this tool gets the nod...and here is a little insight into the history she is going against courtesy of Lawrence O'Donnell on Maddow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d51Y42SlHs8

17. More from the dark side....
A NJ caller claimed on C-Span this morning it looks like America is going to get this one wrong. Palin is the only diverse candidate in the race and the republican party is the only truly diverse political party. Even an independent caller said the guy was from an alternate universe.
