How come Ohio worth so many electorial votes? |
|
I know I should have been paying more attention in school when the teacher was talking about electorial colleges. But, for a refresher course, can someone please help me understand why Ohio is worth so many electorial votes?

2. It's based on the number of Congressional districts |
|

Plus the two Senators. Congressional districts are re-drawn every ten years after the new census data comes in. The number of EVs can change in any state after re-districting.

8. Electoral votes are based on population and they're adjusted |
|
when they do a census. I remember Pa lost one or two to a southern state after the last census.

10. How come Wyoming is worth so many electorial votes? |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 11:01 AM by onehandle
Their vote is worth more than any other vote in America.
They have a smaller population than Washington DC. Individual votes there are worth the least.
We need a Constitutional Congress.

11. There is one elector for each Senator and one for each Representative. |
|
Ohio has two Senators and 18 Congressional districts, so it therefore has 20 electoral votes.

14. Ohio has several medium sized cities (Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, etc.) which |
|
add up to a lot of electoral votes, even though there isn't a HUGE metropolis like NY, Chicago or LA there.
