How come Ohio worth so many electorial votes?
I know I should have been paying more attention in school when the teacher was talking about electorial colleges. But, for a refresher course, can someone please help me understand why Ohio is worth so many electorial votes?

2. It's based on the number of Congressional districts

Plus the two Senators. Congressional districts are re-drawn every ten years after the new census data comes in. The number of EVs can change in any state after re-districting.

3. The number of electoral votes are determined by the size of each state's population.

8. Electoral votes are based on population and they're adjusted
when they do a census. I remember Pa lost one or two to a southern state after the last census.

10. How come Wyoming is worth so many electorial votes?
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 11:01 AM by onehandle
Their vote is worth more than any other vote in America.

They have a smaller population than Washington DC. Individual votes there are worth the least.

We need a Constitutional Congress.

11. There is one elector for each Senator and one for each Representative.
Ohio has two Senators and 18 Congressional districts, so it therefore has 20 electoral votes.

14. Ohio has several medium sized cities (Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, etc.) which
add up to a lot of electoral votes, even though there isn't a HUGE metropolis like NY, Chicago or LA there.
