The rain giving McCain a break? |
|
Give ME a break:
from www.electoral-vote.com
"Finally McCain Gets a Break John McCain has had a run of bad luck this year ranging from little public interest in foreign policy to the Wall St. Meltdown just before the election. Finally, he is getting the ultimate gift a Republican could ask for: rain on election day. The forecast is rain and storm in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and North Carolina. Rain lowers turnout and low turnout always helps Republicans as the people most discouraged from standing in the rain for hours are low-income voters. Whether this will be enough to swing those states is another matter though. They could be close. But turnout is crucial to determining who wins."
If you support Obama, you know how important your vote is and you will get out there in the rain. What do you think?

2. I know low turnout helps the GOP but why would low income voters be |
|
more averse to "standing in the rain for hours" ? Low turnout due to general apathy I can see helping the 'pubs but bad weather and I'm not picturing the guy in the fine suit and shoes being so enthusiastic about getting out into it.

3. This year, I think that the rain helps Obama. His voters are enthusiastic. |

McCain's voters - not so much.
This year, who is willing to stand in the rain? Highly motivated Obama supporters, or discouraged cranky McCain voters?
