McCains proposal on Monday Night Football changed my RW friends mind
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 11:22 AM by DeepBlueDem
from McCain to Obama.

This was his email.

<snip>

Hey *******,

I realized that McCain is a crazy mofo. He is encouraging government involvement in professional sports.
I hope sports fans out there, take his comments any way possible. He wants to destroy the integrity of the game. Erasing the power from the leagues and put them in Governments hands. This is proof, that he wants to expand government. Quite frankly, the leagues have taken great steps in disciplining athletes.

P.S. I casted my vote this morning and its not for McCain. I'll come by tonight well talk more about it.

XXXXXXXXX

11. Wasn't this already on the table?
Of course, mentioning it on the eve of an election at a sports arena of all places was maybe not the BEST place to mention it?
:silly:
Just par for the course for the McBush campaign.............

20. Obama said if he could change one thing about sports it would be...
to have a playoff in the College Football system instead of BCS standings.

It's actually a really smart answer that a true sports enthusiast would give.

10. You know..
I think there are a lot of people out there who might be looking for an out. A way to change sides, without losing face. A way to explain to their friends that they changed opinions, apart from "I was wrong all along, stuck in my ways".

So if they can find something they can display outrage over, they can cover behind that.

And hey, thats all good with me

19. Wow! The confluence of sports and politics creates a sensible voter!
I often criticize sports fans for being so well versed in sports stats yet often so ignorant regarding politics. If all it takes is McCain's proposed meddling in sports to bring fans into the fold that's fine by me.

BTW, is that pumpkin pie? Mmmmm. My favorite.
