There are two people I am thinking about today a lot today.

My husbands grandmother who died a few years ago. She was a die hard dem who would have never let her beloved grandson marry me if I was not, in her words, a smart democrat! I can hear her saying that McCain and Palin are not fit for office. Her favorite line for most republicas.
We miss you Nana.

I have also been thinking about my dad who died when I was only five.
I still remember his activism. He was a professor at a college that was having racial problems in the early 60's and told us kids that racism was wrong and destructive. He taught us that all people were important and able to do anything they wanted to do if they worked hard enough. He would be so happy and proud today.

Now I'm crying again.
