Report from North Raleigh - GOTV efforts

In a word, magnificent! Got there at 9 AM with two carry out containers of Starbucks coffee and some fresh baked chocolate chip cookies (for breakfast? You betcha...*wink*..!!) No room in the parking lot....had to park in a distant lot, like many others. It is nasty in Raleigh - driving chilly rain (not a deluge, but not pleasant). The Obama office was packed - at least 50 people - phone banking, putting canvassing packets together, data entry...all sorts of food, beverage - good karma all around, confident but cautious. Got my packet, went out to hang Obama Vote Location hangars on doors in a large apartment building. I met several people in the parking lots, and they were very encouraging - all for Obama, all already voted! Went back to the Obama office - the whole initial wave of canvassing was completed, and they are refiguring their lists and creating the next wave of packets. Am now drying off a bit....that's the story from North Raleigh North Carolina, a state that will turn blue this year!
