2. Absolutely no problems that I've heard |
|
I live in Fauquier, work in Sterling...have co-workers who vote in Loudoun, Fairfax, Prince William, etc...and no one has expressed a single problem.

5. Exit polls I don't put much stock in, voting problems I do |
|
And after 2004, seeing them in these states is oh so predictable. Obama absolutely mustn't concede until everyone has a chance to vote and their votes are correctly counted.

7. Millions of people are voting... |
|
Yes there are going to be some problems and they should be addressed. But the day is almost half over and there is nothing being reported that is overly insidious or widespread enough to make a major difference.
Atrios said it best:
"One thing I hate about election days is that reading around the internets you get lots of reports of voting problems, often with lots of exclamation points, by people who don't seem to be able distinguish between serious voter intimidation, general incompetence, and the to be expected occasional malfunctioning machine or whatever. Obviously our election system is completely stupid and in an ideal world we'd have only a small fraction of all of these problems, but not all of these problems are evidence of massive conspiracy.
...adding, voting issues are serious, but the inability to distinguish between the important and the not so important obscures what the real problems are."

12. Quite. It's normal to have a few problems; what matters is how they're handled |
|
So far things seem to be running smoothly. Let's remember that PA has a Democratic administration and secretary of State; there's no state machine working to disenfranchise people.

Voted in a heavily African-American precinct.
No problems with anything that I could see this morning, other than lots of people in a long line.

16. Well, that narrows it down as to where the GOP thinks the fix is in. |
|
Let's hope that everywhere else, as well as overwhelming numbers in those states, instead fix the GOP but good.

Northeastern PA here. One or two people were at the wrong polling place and the lines were about 25 people long but nothing significant that I could see.
