I think my kid is going to get the best birthday present EVER
And no, despite what my husband thinks, it's not the XBox 360 he just bought.

My kid turns 5 today. He was born on an election day as well, so I call him my little political good luck charm. :D The best present he--and every other kid in the world--could possibly get is a brighter future with President Obama, and I truly believe it's going to happen.

Say happy birthday to my little booger by VOTING! :hi:

2. Thanks!
He said something this morning about McCain being "McHate"--I don't know where he got that, but I'll take it! They're voting in school today, so maybe he picked it up from a classmate. I've been trying to present the candidates in a neutral way--just informing him of who's on the ticket and what they stand for, in very simple terms. But when I told him to guess who mama voted for, he knew! :D

3. Awe. I voted so Happy Birthday young one. We are kindred spirits.
I was born on election day too. My Mom was sent to the head of the line because she insisted on voting before going to the hospital even though she was in full labor.

I'm hoping for a big birthday present for both of us although mine will be belated (I was born on the 3rd.) He is absolutely adorable.

4. Happy birthday to you too!
Cool story about your mom!

I missed voting when he was born--went into the birthing room at 6 a.m. and didn't come out again till 8:00 p.m. He was worth it, though! :hi:

6. An Obama win will be an early birthday present for my grand nephew.
He turns two on Friday. He was also born on Election Day. This is in spite of his mother voting as a Repub. I don't understand why, though.

7. I hear you
Mr. MG is a Repug. I think, for him, it's just a family thing--his dad was one, therefore he and his sister are. Plus he gets his panties in a wad about taxes. :eyes: I'll make every effort to get my son to take after his mama. Picked him up from school about half an hour ago--he said he voted for Obama in the school election!

Happy birthday to your grand nephew! :hi:

10. Thanks, Winky! He is a good kid.
I actually managed to get my mind off the election for a couple of hours while he unwrapped his presents. Now he and Mr. MG are commandeering the TV with the new XBox 360--and that's just fine with me. Otherwise I might wander over to Faux and burn my eyeballs out. :scared:
