OK, I'm officially a wreck despite
believing and having believed for almost a year that Barack will be our next president.

I spent the morning driving folks to the polling place. I voted- first time ever on anything that wasn't just a piece of paper that you fold and put into big old wooden ballot box. The village just got an optical scanner. There was no wait, but voting's been heavy. In the first hour between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m., more people voted in the GE than voted all day on Primary day.

Anyway, even though my heart and my head say that Obama will win, my conditioned-to-loss/theft nervous system is a freakin' mess.

I HATE having to wait for 6 hours more.

14. They are, but the nearest shop is almost 3 hours away. I think it would be
cheaper to buy a pint instead of the gas. LOL

6. I blame Geo. W. Bush for all the Democratic angst today...
The head tells me the lines have been going on for days and days and that means more Democrats will have voted in this election than ever before. The head also tells me we have come out in numbers so great there is no way to steal this thing. I'm also hearing head-speak about how Obama won't rest until he knows the absolute and true outcome of this election.

Then the heart says, please don't hurt me again!

Fuck Geo. W. Bush and his evil election stealing ways!

ARGH!!!

11. Me too. I'm all in knots. Can't work, even to take my mind off of
the election. Can't watch teevee. And my head is killing me.

I'm actually tempted to take an Ambien now and wake up tonight when the results start coming in.

13. I was a wreck four years ago, but I'm strangely calm today..
very excited, but not worried at all.

Congrats to you for your hard work, and I know you mentioned sometime back that your son was working hard for Obama. My brother headed up one of his campaign offices, this is going to be a great victory...:toast:

ARRRGH! The countdown to the live results is almost unbearable... I normally don't tune into the cable news before 5 or 6 but I am because I'm so on edge. I just want it to be official now.

A fellow dem friend and I met for lunch (we usually meet on Tuesdays) and we split a piece of turtle cheesecake today in celebration. We normally don't get dessert. Now I hope we didn't jinx things!
