I ALWAYS pick individual races.

1. I've never voted in a state that had straigh ticket voting.
I've always taken a gleeful joy in ticking each Democrat on the ballot, too.

2. We have optical scan type, I still don't trust.
Plus, I enjoy voting for all the Dems individually.

4. With optical scan, if you vote for Obama AND straight Democratic it would spit out your ballot
and you would get a do-over. I'll take optical scan over nearly all the other ways of voting that are used.

3. We had it last time, not this time
The Republicans must have wanted it changed because the Dems won everything in NH last time due to straght party voting. It took longer to fill in the 16 circles, but I got it done!

5. I always take pleasure...
...in marking each race individually!

I know it doesn't make a particle of difference, but I kinda feel like I'm hitting them several small blows, instead of a knockout.

PEACE (and VICTORY)!

6. Maine Paper Ballots Hand Counted
Here in my small town in Maine we use little stubby pencils with no erasers...paper ballots, which you either put an X or a check...and then you fold your ballot and stuff it into the antique ballot box...

7. It should be fine to vote straight ticket -- just DON'T go to individual races.
I love straight-ticket voting.
