Not hearing a lot from PA
my own precinct is small, and had short lines by 10:00 AM, because a significant chunk had *already* voted. I expect near 100% turnout. We had that for Kerry in 2004.

4. Reports are good from NE Philly - if Obama does well there, he wins PA.

3. Rendell is optimistic
Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell told reporters this afternoon that he is "optimistic, but by no means overconfident" about Barack Obama's chances in the state.

Speaking at the city political establishment's annual luncheon at the Famous 4th Street Deli in Queen Village, Rendell said that voter turnout "looks to be good all over the state," and is "going to be very good" in Philadelphia - although not as high as he had hoped.

Rendell also expressed optimism about the Philadelphia suburbs, which have long been key territory for any presidential candidate. He predicted "big numbers" of voters in the suburban counties, and that "Sen. Obama is going to do very good" there.

Rendell tempered that optimism, though, when asked what he thought Obama's margin of victory would be. He predicted "five or six points," far less than the double-digit lead Obama holds in some state polls.

7. Western PA is very red so...
That could be a sign that a lot of Republicans are staying home.
