NC Freepers are freaking out
Why is it every McCain supporter driving a truck decides to pull up on my side and yell at me? Not to mention it's raining and the traffic on 40 is moving at about 65-70.

Something must be agitating them, what is happening today that has all these right wing nut jobs in a frenzy?

1. Hmm... surely if there was something going on, it'd be on the news?
I'm stumped!

I just drove on an NC freeway about 15 min. ago with Obama sticker on my bumper, and this white pickup truck zooms in front of me and then slams on the brakes. I had to do the same and veer just to miss him. He then doubles back and zooms down the exit ramp. I noticed a "Dad for McCain" sign on his rear windshield. Idiot.

3. Did you pull out in front of them or are you driving with a flat tire?
I just can't imagine what is wrong with them. I think I'll call around and see if I can find out.

5. Stopped and checked my tires the first time, staying in the slow lane and even
flashing my beams to let people in front of me.

I do have Obama stickers and a couple signs about privatizing profits and socializing losses.

9. I've got one of those Obama stickers as well.
Maybe I should head out on 40 and see what happens.

6. They're realizing it's over.
They may not want to admit it, but it's finally dawning on them that McCain is going to lose tonight. They're upset and they're reacting in the only way they know - by lashing out in anger against the supporters of McCain's opponent. They are sad little people. Please don't let them bother you.

:hi:

I'm a native of North Carolina, so I would love to see that state turn blue this year! Have fun tonight! :hi:

7. In Greensboro
I am in Greensboro NC, and have gotten the stares and the tension for wearing my Obama pin. However, I will say I have had way more people come up to me and thank me for supporting Barack as well as many wanting to talk about the issues. The positive has definitely outweighed the negative.

I predict an NC win tonight. :)

14. Also in Greensboro, welcome to DU!
I think you're right, Obama will squeak out a win in NC tonight. As to Guilford County, at least the freepers are in the minority (Kerry carried Guilford County, albeit narrowly, in 2004).

12. They are going nuts!
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 04:02 PM by emdee
I'm home today - voted early - and I've had to delete a "friend" from Facebook today!
They are really freaking out and making outrageous claims in these last hours.
There may well be riots, I'm thinking!

edited to add: the one I removed is expecting her husband and six children to start receiving disability checks at any time now --- and I'm glad it's there for them --- but it would not be there if it was up to Bush or McCain.

19. I-40 around Raleigh is always nuts
That’s why I take the back roads. I live in Utah but have a home in Harnett County, NC. My husband is there now, and voted absentee a few weeks ago for our man Obama. He felt he was overwhelmed by the ignorance that seems to permeate that region. BUT, today he was at an insurance company in Dunn, NC and overheard a disabled veteran trying to talk to the woefully uninformed receptionist about the importance of voting, and especially for Obama. My husband was so pleased to hear a like minded person he stepped out of line and followed the gentleman outside to shake his hand and thank him for his efforts. He felt like he had found a new friend.

I voted in Utah on 21 Oct and was the first person in line. I was so excited when I left the polling place I put my “I voted” sticker above the Obama 2008 sticker on my car. I believe the state of Utah will be very surprised. No, we will not turn blue (too much Church influence), but if the number of Obama yard signs & bumper stickers are an indication, we are having our say.

20. Might you have an Obama sticker on your vehicle per chance?
I hear their man McCain is circling the polling drain... they may be a little testy about that today... and hopefully for weeks to come!

Yippity skippity!

Joy overload!
