Freaking out wingnuts in a RED area of Raleigh
Quite the day...had contact with the enemy in three locations...two Starbucks and a Borders. When getting coffee carriers for an Obama office today, passed by a table of big dudes all saying that they think they can pull it out, looked pretty downcast - so I said to them Obama 393 Electoral votes, election called by 9 PM. They looked daggers at me...I was gleeful. After canvassing, I went to Borders to unwind, overheard a table of middle aged people saying that they heard from Rush that they can pull this out...at the sound of the word "Rush", I just got on out of there - didn't want to spoil my good mood. Then on the way home to get my freebie at another Starbucks, lots of McLameiacs in line, a few saying "free coffee is like paying people to vote" - her I voted repub sticker - a whole slew of us said, nearly together, anything that gets people off their butts to vote is a good thing....then a few people showed me their Obama buttons (hidden under their coats, unlike me who had them all over my shirt!). There is lots of anxiety out there, hopefullness, but many of us who just can't believe that after 8 years of hell we finally will be able to start work on something good!

So, yes, very interesting day out there in rainy, dreary but hopeful Raleigh!

1. Wingnuts in Borders and Starbucks? Guess they must see the inevitable...
...and trying out living "liberal" style.

What next?

Test driving a Volvo?

Taking a dunk in a hot tub?

Perhaps trying a Chardonnay at a wine tasting?

...could happen...could happen.

2. Story:
Not mine, but when I got back from canvassing, another guy said that he picked up someone walking down the street to take him to vote:

"You gonna vote?"

"I dunno"

"Get in. We're going to vote."

They then saw 3 of his friends, stopped and picked them all up and they all voted today. 4 votes in downtown Raleigh that would not have happened.

Another 4 republicans that have to brave the rain to even start any sort of comeback in NC.

Lets kick some ass.

3. Whenever I think of conservatives in a book store I imagine the following
"AIIIIEEEEEE! There are books that aren't the Bible and not written by Limbaugh and Hannity? AIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
