I found the DU, thankfully, when Skinner and gang held their sign up in D.C. on Bush's inauguration day and I lurked for a week or two and began posting almost immediately and was welcomed warmly by Crewleader.

The DU played a big part in helping end fascism in America.

Thanks to Skinner, EarlG, Elad, the moderators and their families.

That was a radical crowd back then.

The DU kept me sane all these years.

5. I don't know if that makes me a charter member, but I fell in love with the DU at first sight.

I wish we'd had a DU back in the 1960's, the 1970's, the 1980's and the 1990's.

I hung out at Salon in the late 1990's and a few other early liberal blogs before landing here.

DU is my favorite blog. It tops the Daily Kos and others in the feeling of community.

I don't know how Skinner, EarlG, Elad and all came up with the right format, the perfect touch, but they did.

4. Yeah. My wife and I drove up from Atlanta.

We were there as smirk's darkened limo sped by the screaming crowd.

We'll be there again in January for a much happier event.
