1. They're paying more attention than most Americans.
There's not much apathy outside of our borders.

This is big big stuff, all over this globe. I wish Americans realized this.

4. I'm just amazed at the thoroughness of the European press's coverage.
They've got more angles covered than most American papers.

3. I hope they are, because we are finally going to demonstrate to them that we have not lost
our sanity.

We can undo the shame of 2004.

9. I've tuned in to the French TV channel I get through Dish Network
They're devoting their air time to special coverage of the U.S. election, with special reports, talking heads, and type of show you would expect in the U.S. I've never seen this amount of attention in France to a U.S. election.

18. And French TV is discussing the intense interest in this election in Africa
They're interviewing political figures in several nations in Africa. There's apparently absolute euphoria across the continent of Africa among the common people over this election.

10. Election Night Special on German TV
It's 25 minutes to midnight here in Europe and my 81 year old mother is still watching. Tonight she won't go to bed soon, I guess.

12. Well hell YEAH I think they're paying attention. The US has a huge amount of influence, no matter
whether for good or bad. And we have a lot of used-to-be-friends out there hoping we do the RIGHT THING, too.

19. In Australia, our economy took a belt along with America's.
Unfortunately, what happens to America affects the rest of the world. I wish it otherwise, but that's how it is - so the world is very much concerned with what happens today, even more so for countries that McCain and his ilk would consider ripe for invading.

I've had hundreds of people here coming into my shop and telling me that they are rooting for Obama. They're always visibly relieved when they find that I voted for him.

22. A friend is in London on business
He said all the cabbies were questioning him to make sure he voted. Almost to a person, they told him everyone had to vote to get the GOP out after all the damage they had done.

He said the election is all anyone is talking about.

26. Lots Of Interest In Cardiff, Wales
I heard on the radio earlier today that they are putting up a big screen in Cardiff city centre, to show the BBC election coverage through the night. Normally they only do that for REALLY important stuff like rugby matches ;) - but I've never known them to put a screen up overnight before.
