3. Hi, hnmnf. Yes -- most of the state is on Eastern time, including Indianapolis.
The districts around Gary in the far northwest and the far southwest corner near Evansville are on Central Time and will close an hour later.

If O and Joe run up competitive totals in the Eastern districts, then we win the state.

6. Even Scarborough said if Indiana goes to Obama, we can have a good idea that he's going to win.

8. Agree. Indiana is so reliably red that if Obama could win it, it's pretty
much all over for McCain everywhere else, too.

10. The earliest poll closing time is 7 PM Eastern except for parts of KY & IN that close at 6.
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 06:04 PM by Lasher
7 PM closing applies to VT, VA, SC, GA, and the parts of KY & IN that close after 6 PM EST. Here's a good graphic so you can keep track:

14. From the Indianapolis STAR:
http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081104/NEWS0502/81104001

(More than one time zone at work in Indiana. Two sections of the state, the extreme SW and the extreme NW are on Central. Everyplace else in the state on Eastern.)

13. Don't we always hear from Maine first?
I mean, OK. First we hear from Podunk Notch, and Gobblers Knob, and Wankers Corner... and then we hear from Maine. Followed by real states.

Isn't that how it usually works?
