The right-wingers at work are NOT freaking out.

My fundy co-worker is happy and enthusiastic this afternoon, and it's not entirely because she's slightly batty. I think she genuinely likes and admires Obama. She voted for McCain, natch, but I think she will be very happy with either outcome.

Other known right-wingers are walking around perfectly happy today, or else they're putting up a pretty amazing front. The stock market is up (or it was a couple hours ago). I think that everybody with a brain in this country knows that Obama is a highly intelligent, thoughtful, calm leader.

I predict that many Republicans - even many of those who voted for McCain - will be perfectly happy when Obama wins. The exceptions are the true bottom-dwellers - the racists, the extremist fringe, and the rapture-ready.
