8. A few years back

I caught her getting some sort of award for journalism. She spoke about being the daughter of a GI and
a Japanese mom. Ann said that when she first appeared on national TV, her mom called her to complain
about all the make-up. And quoting Anne, her mom said "You rook like a raccoon". It was very sweet
and made me appreciate Anne's warmth.

Oh, and I agree. Lovely voice and pretty to boot!
