OFFICIAL INDIANA RESULTS THREAD: OBAMA WINNING!
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 06:31 PM by darius15
Obama 56, McCain 43 currently. Only 15 000 votes in right now, but small towns often come in first, so this is pretty good news.

EDIT: I know it's way too early to get excited, but I am fired up right now!:D

15. Same here unfortunately. I think they all went for Bush, I remember Indiana in 04. Other than Lake
and Indianapolis, pretty much the rest of the state went Bush.

12. This is very good news!
The rural areas are usually the first to report. The larger, metropolitan
areas come in last.

This is indeed---exceptionally good news for Obama.

Yes, yes--Indiana is far from counted, but this is the best news than any Obama
supporter could hope for. If he's winning in rural areas in Indiana, that is....huge.

23. Compare to 2004, it's great!!
Knox went for Bush 63 to 36 Kerry. Now at 54% for Obama!!!
Vigo went 53% for Bush. Now at 57% Obama!

I know it is early, but those are awesome reversals in small counties.

Good sign, I would say. Knox County is pretty southern. Vigo is where Terre Haute is.

32. VIGO COUNTY (via Politico
An Indiana bellwether

My colleague Josh Kraushaar points to the first really compelling piece of final data I've seen tonight: The results from Vigo County, in Eastern Indiana, a historical bellweather.

Bush won the county, which includes Terre Haute, 53-47 in 2004, but with more than half of the vote counted, it's hard to see how McCain can retake the lead there.

33. Even in Wells which went for Bush 74 to 25
McCain only pulls 63%. I know he's winning that small county, but the fact that Obama is pulling in 11% MORE than Kerry did is huge!!! Wooot!!
