I live in NC and normally I am a poll observer - this election I was a runner- gather numbers of how many voted through out the day so we would know where to concentrate calling and canvassing. It rained all day but turnout was high! Polls close in 30 minutes so I know we had to break some records in my county.

The excitement at the campaign office is awesome! All ages, races and religions (I know this because we had a few discussions about faith) coming and going all day. One gentleman came in with his guitar and just sat and played and sang all evening. The atmosphere was wonderful. I worked for the Kerry campaign in 2004 and the difference is amazing.

I just wanted to check in to read some posts and share my day with my fellow DUers. It sounds corny but I just gotta say it: I love you guys!
