Out of everyone on my list, just one person said she "wasn't voting for HIM, and you're wasting your time." Everyone else I talked to was either on their way to vote for Obama (one person), or had already voted for Obama (everyone else), and seemed really excited and proud to tell me.

12. I'm in Austin,

a super-Democratic oasis in big red Texas, so I get kind of a mix of both, but I was really excited to get assigned to Pennsylvania and have a chance to talk to people in other states, hear what they were thinking for myself, rather than as it comes filtered through media outlets. I think I'm actually going to miss phonebanking a little! Guess I'll have something to look forward to in Obama's 2012 reelection campaign.

I was down in the french quarter in New Orleans last friday and saw a very stately elderly lady with a lapel button stating: Old White Women for Obama. I loved it. And thanks for your work.

I wanted to make some "white women for Obama" shirts during the primaries, because I got so sick of hearing every pundit talking about how all white women were voting for Hillary, but didn't end up doing it because I was afraid someone would misunderstand and get offended at my dumb little joke. I'd love to see that woman in New Orleans you saw though, I'd have to run up and hug her. Frankly, I got sick of the way all demographics got so chopped up during that period, tired of hearing about how white women do this, and black men do that, and Asian people over 5'8" with degrees do this, and vegetarian midgets of German descent do that, etc. Ugggh. I'm looking forward to a time when we can all just be one big happy pile of voters.
