Rachel is missing the big picture.
She keeps talking for the last couple days, about how Obama may have spent a lot of money just to lose by less in red states. But his and the DNC's efforts will spill into the congressional races so it's not wasted money. And maybe next time they'll go blue. I love her but her pessimism is wearing on me.

3. And also remember that Obama had plenty of money to spend
to keep these races close. Yeah, she can wear on me too but I still like her.

5. I'm sorry...
But I'm going to have to hide your thread. I don't think I've ever hidden any of your threads before. But I must hide this one, and all other Rachel Downer threads... I'm not going to do this tonight... I'm not going to fight her battles tonight.

She's brilliant... that is all.

9. Maybe she is only trying to be realistic for us! She is very smart, so she knows what pitfalls
we could face. She is also brilliant so don't discount her just because she disagrees with you at this point. It will be fine...

7. It also helps in 2012
I agree with Howard Dean. The Dems must compete in every district in every race. With must be a national party. Many people in rural America haven't been given a chance to hear a truly democratic message in nearly 30 years.

and is saying that it's a risk- but one with equally big rewards. If you win, you remake the Democratic party in those states in your own image.

Too many people here seem to want a simple cheerleader- rather than an honest analyst.

Being flogged for so long, she might be a bit uncomfortable with being the party in power.

must see TV, but I'm watching her less & less. Except for her interview with Obama, I've just caught her here & there. I'm not quite sure what her goal is? Is this normal Rachel, or is she being told to try to be neutral? I flipped over last night, and she seemed ecstatic to be interviewing Pawlenty, so I think she's trying to be "fair" & "balanced".

18. I noticed that last night.
I was surprised she hasn't connected this to the 50-state strategy. Some places you may not win this time but you're making inroads and starting a foundation for the next time and the times after that.

maybe she will see the light when she sees how it affects the popular vote totals

22. My dad doesn't know anything about the Rachel talk on sites like this
But a few minutes ago he called me about the election. Not long after asking for my summary, he said, "That woman on MSNBC, she couldn't be more irritating. Every time she comes on, I change the channel."

I laughed like hell and told him that was the consensus on message boards. My dad said, "Well, you can tell them I'm with them."
