13. For this Massachusetts citizen - what's CA Prop 8? Sounds like some kind
of anti-gay abomination. I'd rather hear about it from you guys than google it.

As for our ballot props here, we've just decriminalized marijuana and outlawed (over time) dog racing. We kept the state income tax.

22. Don't forget the bigots from Utah $$$ who funded 40%
of this utterly homophobic hate campaign to reverse the court ruling to allow gays to marry in Calif.

it's a threat against America, doncha know?

24. Don't forget that the two biggest individual donors
were the mother of the founder of Blackwater and the guy who finannced the voting machine company ES&S who is implicated in voting scandals and who is a Christian Reconstructionist.

Oh, and the Catholics chipped in a few million too.

The Sec of State's website is lagging horribly. Yes was up there last I check but that was with maybe 10% of the results in.

27. my only relief about this tragic fear that prop 8 passes is that Obama is in the WH
Edited on Wed Nov-05-08 01:35 AM by TheDonkey
and we will have national civil unions giving gays and lesbians equal rights and a Supreme Court that will now have a Democrat to replenish so we can have the courts mandate gay marriage across the country. It is just too unfortunate the the majority is so fearful of equality.

30. Yes, I agree. The time for fear and hate is FINALLY passing. Obama will
be appointing the next Supreme Court justice, and that makes actual justice much more likely.

Straight male here voted NO on 8. It's unfair, homophobic, and unnecessary. Relationships are private - government, stay out!
