My God! I discovered DU right after the 2004 election. This site has been inspiration, information, and solace. You are a fine community, and a very important one to me when I felt my country was no longer mine.
Electing Barack Obama allows the world to look past the idiocy, the bullying, the lawless and murderous behavior of the Bush junta-administration. The voices of hate -- the Limbaughs and Hannities -- these people may lose their power and be seen as yammering fools. The recruiting of terrorists has lost its biggest attraction in Bush and his clones. Obama's appeal to Americans has not been what he will give us, but what he inspires us to be. But until this time, DU has sustained my spirit. Thank you!
