Michelle Obama's Dress...
I declare myself an official MO dress watcher. :D I think it's a wild dress. I don't dislike it, but I'm not sure I like it. I just think it's wild and I love that she took a risk. The red and black is a crazy combination for a win.

She still looks great.

in the newly unified America, we get red back. It's my favorite too.
And I thought her dress was magnificent.

61. I actually felt that the choice of red was a symbol of unification.
Our new President was wearing a red tie. Our new Vice-President was wearing the blue tie. I loved it.

50. Didn't like it at all....
I think it was the black section over the middle that ruined it.

Also, it clearly didn't match well with the older girl's red dress, and everyone watching with me felt it clashed with Jill Biden's outfit.

Black is for mourning.
Red is for the death of the Rethuglian reign of terror.

She was simply paying her respects.

How gracious of our New FIRST LADY!!!

I didn't like the dress and I didn't like that it was red, at all.

I also didn't like that the family color theme seemed to be red.

This is OUR night, The Democratic Victory night.

Blue should have been the color of choice, imho.

But, it was her decision. Trivial in the grand scope of things.

was the love and pride radiating between Michelle, Obama, their girls and the whole Biden family. Yes, the dress was unfortunate. The stomach part cut her in half on camera and made her look stockier than she is. But she is REAL. No more posturing, no more Stepford First Ladies.

59. I thought it was neat that the whole family wore red
Obama's tie, Michelle's dress, and the kids' dresses too (although wasn't one of them pure black? can't remember now). I thought the color must have been a deliberate and symbolic choice and I applaud it 100%. It was a great and unifying way to make their first appearance as the First Family.

That said, her dress confused me. And I see I'm not the only one who thought she looked pregnant (which would be awesome!).

Now, as for the green/yellow pilled sweater looking thing on Mrs. Biden. Not so much.

63. Obama Dresses Symbolic...
Edited on Wed Nov-05-08 12:46 PM by trustjms
I've been told I'm reading too much into this, but I think Michelle chose these color combinations (black and red) in honor and memory of the countless African Americans who shed their blood for this county and for this very moment in history, especially people like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Cause I'll tell ya, I hated her dress at first last night, but then this morning, it came to me. I mean, why else would she choose those dresses for herself and her daughters?

At any rate....praise God for Obama '08!
