Arizona disappointing tonight... oh well
Not only did we not deliver the good, but Prop 102 (our Prop 8 passed) and that retarded Sheriff Joe got reelected.

Thinking seriously about moving out.

Wifey and I are more and more attracted by New England.

Sorry, America, at least we got the Man elected!

3. On the PLUS side: 5/8 Dem congressmen
We picked one seat in Congress after Rick Renzi's indictment

AZ-01: KIRKPATRICK, ANN - D --- This is our pick,good job!!!
AZ-02: FRANKS, TRENT - R
AZ-03: SHADEGG, JOHN - R --- that sucks, I had good hopes on that one
AZ-04: PASTOR, ED - D --- I am glad he got reelected
AZ-05: MITCHELL, HARRY - D --- well deserved
AZ-06: FLAKE, JEFF - R --- as expected, as this is a heavily LDS district
AZ-07: GRIJALVA, RAÚL - D
AZ-08: GIFFORDS, GABRIELLE - D --- Reelected as well

In 2010, expect Napolitano to run for Senate.

Napolitano would be one of the best we've ever had. I hope she gets it. Hopefully Goddard takes over and has an advantage in 2010.

30. Remember that we got Rose Mofford (good)when Symington resigned, so yup, we'd
be stuck with our very own Katharine Harris, the vile Brewer.

Yuck.

and yet never wavered from the using the same script towards another, he is no longer worthy of any respect and its sad in a way...

9. If you like desert climates....
Colorado -- Front Range (east of Rockies) gets 300 days of sunlight, we're almost a desert (very dry), not much mud. Housing prices are plummeting and the NW metro area (Boulder and Broomfield area) are nice places to live. I moved out of the Valley when I finished my master's (ASU; my parents moved me to Yuma and then Snowflake when I was eight; then Mesa when I went to ASU); I've been here in Colorado now for 12 years and it was a very good decision.

I don't know what to do about Arpaio... I think Mesa swings it for him. He's part of the reason I left. I lived in a bad neighborhood in Mesa and I was terrified I'd get swept up in someone else's problem and being a grad student, be unable to defend myself effectively.

The #1 thing that I love about living here: Mesa is 400,000 people. When I first moved to Colorado, I went to Colorado Springs (the neo-con heartland). The Springs is the same size as Mesa... but has 1/4 the police force... and 1/10th the crime. The per capita income is about the same, the demographics were comparable... but you know, my partner was a huge police radio fan. We'd listen in Mesa and in the Springs... and the sheer difference in what we heard was amazing -- The Mesa cops were paranoid (like -- been smoking pot for 10 years with a healthy dose of cocaine on a regular basis) and the Springs... just weren't.

I've been up in the NW Denver Metro area now for 10 years... and this area... is better.

14. Well, I have allergies... and I am tired of the desert.
My allergies kill me about one month in the year. Horrible allergies.

And I'm from France and New England is much closer, cheaper to fly there.

Also I miss the green climate.

Since I am in IT, I guess the Boston area would be better.

We call it our Silicon Valley of the Rockies.

Level 3, Sun, HP, Microsoft are there.

24. IT? If you really love New England...
But my Sun Microsystems exec uncle is here more often than he's at home these days (He's in Cambridge). Seriously, U of Colo. attracts IT like flies to an orc.

We have green -- even the eye-searing electric spring and summer green... we just don't have it so long it gets boring.

As for allergies... we thought that's what my partner had until the ENT and the allergy specialist both did the full panels and said, "No you don't have an immune reaction -- you have a mechanical reaction." Apparently, dust particles are just as bad as actual allergens -- 3x daily sprays with saline and or 2x daily washes with the neti pot are as good as all the drugs... BUT... when we're on the east coast... sigh. Yeah, we keep Eli Lilly in cookies.

Good luck with wherever you go and all I can say, living up here at the top of the Colorado river... encourage people to leave with you. Cause I'd rather not witness the mass deaths by dehydration that are going to happen when it finally comes clear that the Colorado River can't support the millions of desert dwellers who insist on swimming pools and golf courses...

Hope you like Perlmutter as your Congresscritter - I know his family well. My sister went to high school with a friend who married a Perlmutter. She still lives here in Denver, and recently threw a bridal shower for my cousin back in '06.

Problems with early voting in GA - it may eventually lead to a runoff and the eventual demise of the horrible slime.

31. i'm in district 6 (Shadegg's) and though he was re-elected, he was seriously challenged.
His opposition (Bob Lord) was a tough candidate and the demographics here (I knocked on a million doors, I swear) are changing rapidly. Lots of pre-bust new builds and new Arizonans from the NW and Midwest.
