9. Minnesota doesn't like Coleman much. It also doesn't like Franken.
He was not a good candidate.

13. Barkley's strength is absolute proof of Franken's weakness as a candidate.

The IP runs in nearly every race in Minnesota. They only flourish when Minnesotans can't stand the GOPer or the DFLer. In the '06 race between Klobuchar and Kennedy, the IP candidate barely registered.

18. The IPs in the Bachmann/Tink and Paulsen/Madia races appear to be playing big roles too
Each are getting over 10% of the vote.

12. true, but the differences are obvious enough. Frankly, I am not impressed with Minnesota
I think their choice of ventura speaks volumes

what they used to be compared to what they are today, how disappointing

15. They are what they always have been:
A state with a sizable center that leans liberal but doesn't put up with bad politicians. They elected Ventura because both Norm Coleman and Skip Humphery were awful candidates. They voted for Kerry, Obama and Klobuchar en masse because they were good candidates. They voted for Pawlenty because he was a good candidate and Hatch was a bad candidate. And they're voting for Barkley because Franken and Coleman both suck.

Don't knock Minnesota's sense. They've got the longest Democratic voting streak in the nation, and the DFL is one of the most dynamic state parties in the nation.

17. I am giving my view nothing more. Incidentally, Franken isn't doing bad for coming
out against an incumbent for the first time

I will also criticize my state California if they vote yes on 4 and 8
