David Axelrod and David Plouffe should be goddamn proud of themselves |
|
They ran an utterly FLAWLESS campaign. Spotless.
They were like the 2007 New England Patriots, only they didn't blow it in the end.
It was simply the greatest political campaign in American history.
They deserve to have books written about them.
Kudos, sirs.

1. Don't forget Howard Dean. |
|
His 50 State strategy was key to it all.

4. I'm ashamed to have not mentioned him |

Dean made that shift on the macro level.
His success places him in the upper ranks among the greatest Democratic party figures of all time.
Sounds maybe a little like euphoric hyperbole? I don't think it is. Dean lead this party out of some pretty tall weeds, and he did it after suffering a political loss most people don't come back from.
He's special.

3. Yes, they did, I've been so impressed |
|
with them from the start. They focused on strategy and not just tactics, which is really the way to go. Hubby went to college with David Axelrod and he still has the freshman orientation book from there; it's really funny seeing Axelrod's pic as a fresh-faced eighteen-year-old!

6. Without fanfare, without grabbing the spotlight or trying to claim personal credit, they worked |
|
behind the scenes, pairing their knowledge with their unerring instincts to run this seamless a gracious campaign. Textbooks on political science will talk about this for years!
Kudos to both of them, and much gratitude. BRILLIANT!!!!

Hopefully they both get the chance to continue to work for Obama. He needs good men like this by his side.

11. I had a big dose of that early in the campaign. |
|
When I just sat back and decided, "They know what they're doing." it became one of the more stress free elections I've ever followed.
The political instincts of the 2008 Obama campaign were remarkable.
