An unapologetic Elizabeth Dole
Edited on Wed Nov-05-08 03:00 AM by Nasprin
As most people know not only did North Carolina vote blue, but North Carolina ousted one of the most hateful women, possibly on this planet, Elizabeth Dole. In doing so the people of North Carolina sent the message that personal attacks against ones religion and faith will not be tolerated. The people of North Carolina who have voted for Kay Hagan did so, largely because of the hateful message that Dole presented. Kay Hagan stood her ground and refused to give up and refused to take the same kind of hateful, smear, crap that has come to define the GOP party. One thing was clear during Dole's concession speech, and that was she remained bitter and unapologetic to the very end. She gave a bunch of canned sentiments that felt about as genuine as a scornful in laws holiday greeting. Dole could have sat there with her arms crossed staring at the camera with her teeth grinding, spitting tobacco into a cup, and that would have summed up her maverick, anything goes, campaign. Thank you the fine people of North Carolina for not buying into these tactics.

edit: spelling.

8. That speech was the classic GOP trick
Accuse your opponent of doing a bad thing, which in reality you are guilty of, as if this will somehow convince people they had it backward.

GOP does massive voter suppression and election fraud, but then accuse the Dems of voter fraud.

GOP runs a vicious, lying negative campaign, then bemoans that the Dem was so mean and unfair to them, when the dem didn't fight dirty at all.

GOP boasts about Bush's mandate, after 286 EVs and 2.5% popular vote margin, then tells everyone that 350+ EVs and 6% margin is a razor thin win, essentially a tie.

Dole's speech tonight is right in line with this.

5. sending her ass to the curb was my second most important task today
housing a pro from Emily's list for 2 weeks to get this done was a very tiny contribution

have not heard her canned sentiments yet, but if you only knew how glad I am to be rid of this ineffectual, inaccessible Senator..........................

9. Well what do you expect when the Viagra stops kicking in...
probably drug overload...

kinda like my grandmother with severe arthritis - she had to take ever increasing doses of cortisone to stop the pain with ever decreasing results of easing the pain...only difference was that I felt sorry for my grandmother and she was a GOOD person...
