Maddow said it best on Prop 8

I am paraphrasing but this is what she said earlier,

"This has to be a huge disappointment to people in California. This proposition is basically asking people to remove a right from the states constitution. This is a right that is already on the books, it's not like voting for gay marriage, it's voting to specifically take that right away from people. It's a right that hasn't done anything to hurt anyone."

I thought that really hit the nail on the head.

1. They can't repeal the law made by the Federal Circuit Court in CA.

Case law trumps statute law if an appellate court says so. Gay marriage has not gone to the Supremes yet but it will.

Under the full faith and credit clause, other states have to recognize gay marriages. It will eventually come to that.
