4. Hey!!!!
There are a lot of sensible people in Texas.

I went to Houston for the first time recently and I was VERY impressed with the folks out there.

5. Yep. Obama won the Houston, Dallas and Austin counties
Plus pretty much all the border counties. We are all not dumb asses down here.

8. Nearly a single digit win for McCain.
Edited on Wed Nov-05-08 08:05 AM by Mugsy
I took screenshots all night long that I hope to post on my blog at a later date, showing how Obama lost by 17-18-22 points in some commonly Red states like Oklahoma and Louisiana, but when it came to Texas, McCain didn't break 10-points until roughly 75% of the votes was counted.

And Obama didn't campaign here, NOT ONCE (one fund-raiser in Austin. Zero local TV ads.) It boggles the mind to think what the result might of been had the Obama campaign of just fought even the tiniest bit for this state.

It should also serve as a note to future Democratic candidates that Texas and it's 34 EV's (second most in the country) don't need to be automaticall forfeited to the Republicans.
