To all the PUNDITS who say Obama has to immediately get to work
Edited on Wed Nov-05-08 05:51 AM by PretzelWarrior
GO FUCK YOURSELVES. He has a grandmother to mourn and bury. He needs to get some brief R & R. He obviously does well with only a short break. I say he names some key organizing staff for transition team including treasury, defense, and homeland security and then he gets them tasked with plugging in to the existing group of ne'er do wells.

It's not like Bush is absolved from still FUCKING RUNNING THE COUNTRY.

Listen, I understand this new leadership group needs to exhibit some decision making showing judgement. We are in dangerous times and our allies and enemies will use this transition time to push us.

But I'm not buying into the meme that Obama doesn't get a decent amount of time to savor and recuperate and spend time with family.

1. Yes, but, Bush still has about 45 days to fuck it up more
than it already is. Obama needs to be ready on day one, not get ready on day one. And just in case you haven't seen the latest, 35 rockets were fired into Southern Israel just this morning. Hamas I believe, which should be your first clue as to what Bush and Company is no doubt up to.

2. agreed. like I said, Bush is the president...BUT he is now accountable
he can be thrown in prison or exile if he willfully drags us into more messes. He will be a target and dogged for the rest of his living days if he does anything that is maliciously meant to tie Obama's presidency down in foreign policy blunders.

5. huh? I think Obama can name a team of strong transition leaders
such as Podesta, Rham Immanuel, etc. and go take care of himself and his family for a few days.

Why are you so freaked out about that? He'll still have time to take care of things.

11. He already has a team started. There was a good article on this a few days ago
It contrasted The President Elect's preparations with McCain's. . Basically there is a plan and team already in place and working on details, have been for awhile now. Obviously it will be fleshed out more.

7. yeah. but his predecessor was handing over a shiny new Cadillac
full tank of gas, just washed.

Junior is handing over a wrecked pile of shit with 150,000 miles on it, flat tires, flames coming from the hood. So....a little different. :)
