If McCain was elected, how do you think the rest of the world would have reacted?
Would it all have been verbal, or would there have been some backlash that would have impacted this country economically and socially?

There has been a pretty steady stream of positive reactions from people in other countries over Obama's victory. Will that result in some tangible benefits for us and the rest of the world?

4. My take was that other countries thought the 2000 election was a mulligan for the voters.
When we re-elected Bush in 2004, our credibility as an intelligent and strong nation was damaged badly and it has been in a steady decline ever since.

2. The real Great Depression
The world would've joined the majority of Americans in depression.
I remember, painfully, 2000 & 2004. This one would've been so much worse.
This brings hope and optimism to the world. Maybe now, we can all get moving and start to rebuild.

3. I tried finding a liberal AM station on the way to the Sacramento Obama party
and only could find 6 stations with extreme right win stuff (Savage, Hugh Hewitt, Hannity) and Sean Hannity got a call from a lady that lives overseas who's American Fascist, and she said the world is not for Obama, and Hannity said it's a liberal MSM conspiracy- I CRACKED UP!

5. I read the responses to the BBC news report on McCain's
speech. They like him but think he screwed up with Palin.

10. I think they would have finally, totally and completely
given up on us. And we would have slid even further toward Third World status.

It can ONLY be better with Obama. As a start, there is mutual respect between him and other world leaders. And they know he has a brain AND a heart.

My dear friend Jean-Charles would have called me screaming in French.
Stephane, just a friend - would have called me screaming in French.
Mona, Julian, Shana, Phillipe - would have called me screaming French.
Guiseppe, Alessandra, and Enzo would have called me screaming in thier Sicialian dialect Italian.
Rory and Paul would have called me screaming in their Irish accents drunk already at 6:00 a.m.

Instead - beautiful txt messages and emails from around the world awaited me this morning. I don't want to think about what the rest of the world would have done . . .

I want to bathe in the glory of my many friends from around the world giving us high fives, woohoos and so thrilled not only for Americans - but coming together as one world. :pals: :-)

All of those people are fairly affluent/wealthy business owning/engaged in global commerce people. They are totally on board with stopping the economic crisis in its tracks.
