12. Apparently, people aren't ready for it yet.
I'd say they will be in about 8 years....maybe less...

18. It's much harder to remove an amendment that put one in.
Hopefully the supreme courts will rule that it's unconstitutional.

I remember passing some folks at the 436/17-92 intersection with Dole signs the weekend before the election...

8. Volunteers pulled it off
We made the difference...yes we did. Wow look at that big blue "finger" sticking out from that sea of red.
We may never live down the debacle of 2000, but we sure got a good start last night. Knees hurt from canvassing and poll watching, sinus stuffed up from tears of joy...all in all it feels pretty darn good!

16. My county sucks, purely sucks.
I live in Putnam County, one of the poorest counties in the State.

I knew I had entered hostile territory when I went to my polling station yesterday. One pickup truck had a confederate flag on the back tailgate. Another had a bumper sticker "Hunters for McCain/Palin. I guy strolled out of the building with his "These colors don't bleed/Support our Troops" t-shirt barely covering his belly.

Registered Voters in the County are as follows:
Republicans - 13,842
Democrats - 25,870
Others - 6,936

Presidential Votes for the county:
McCain - 19,586 59.00%
Obama - 13,201 - 39.77%

My prescient:
McCain - 408
Obama - 164

Even though I heard that some were not going to vote for "no N*****", I felt that the numbers were in the Democrats favor. I was wrong, sadly wrong.

So even though I am thrilled that Florida went Blue, I am thoroughly disgusted with my neighbors.

Can't shake my disappointment over Amend 2 or the Miami Cuban congressional contingent's reelection, but we will get there in time.
Glad to live in Broward...
