Predict the type of DOG the Obamas will get...
IRC last night couldn't decide.

Major contenders in our debate: a flotilla of corgis, shih zhu, golden retriever, pitbull (with lipstick), border collie.

25. Yes!!!!!!
I am SO glad that the Obamas have made that statement. It will be a wonderful "advertisement" to America that it's awesome to save a shelter pet.

Whatever kind of dog that they get, I applaud them for using their status to bring attention to this issue. It was really a nice touch, too, that Obama mentioned this in his speech last night!

12. I'm partial to Border Collies but I think one of the kids has allergies
I'd guess it would be some breed that sheds less and doesn't trigger allergies.

14. my prediction
A mixed mutt.

While it seems a bit droll, think about it.

First: Obama said it will be a shelter dog. That's the most common breed.

Second: in his own way, he's a mixed mutt.

Third: it would show a common (man) touch.

I like mutts. My dog is one, and my dog is the happiest bitch I know. An 80 pound black dog, that looks a lot like a flat-coated retriever, but with longer, softer hair.
