My 8 year old son's teacher just called wanting to know if I had really had him
forgo homework to watch the election. I told her that yes, I absolutely had, and that I felt that watching history unfold was more important. She gave me a gentle chiding as apparently he has a math test today, but then she launched into how it hasn't really sunk in for her yet and she's glad that I am making sure the kids pay attention to the way our Democracy works. She is giving him extra time to do the homework. I knew she would, lol!

5. I know - I have a Physics test in a couple of hours!
They should have just shut down! I am skipping my chemistry class to take in more news shows and do some cramming for the test.

9. I would be taking that up with the principal and school board, as clearly that teacher is a racist.
"that middle name" is reason enough to get her into trouble. I'm a teacher. I can't imagine getting away with saying anything like that and not getting a permanent reprimand in my employee file.

10. It wouldn't do any good.
We live in Oklahoma. All the teachers and administrators probably feel the same way.

6. My 8th grade son stayed up until 12:30 eastern..waiting..hoping to watch NC turn blue.
He got himself up this morning (trooper!) and took the news that NC is still out like a man.

"Pop, we won the big prize. I can wait on North Carolina."

He pulled on his Obama shirt and got ready for me to take him to school.
