I've been reading DU since the day after they stole Ohio in 04. |
|
This post won't say much or have a lot of substance. I'm still too hungover for any of that right now. All I know is that I took the day off from work and will spend it thinking back over the last 4 years. And I'll be spending a good deal of it reading DU.
I just wanted to thank Democratic Underground for being a refuge for me for so long. When John Kerry lost to George Bush, I was devastated. When I found out what happened in my own state of Ohio, I was enraged. I came here and found news, opinions, personal stories and, most of all, HOPE that there were still people in America who "get it".
I think the next 4 years here are going to be interesting, to say the least. But I hope everyone is doing what I'm doing today. And that includes not worrying as much about the future and actually enjoying the moment of NOW. Its been a long time since I could do that.

Now we all have much work to do to correct the mistakes of the last 8 years. Yes we can!
