Thought it couldn't get lower; but the crowd booing Obama during McCain's concession speech |
|
Was a sad moment for History. Regardless of the outcome, they should have recognized that this was a historical night for the world. I blame McCain and Palin for increasing the hate against Obama with their charges and innuendos (Muslim, Terrorist, Socialist, etc.)
So no matter how good McCain's concession speech; he has already divided America.

1. yeah, that kind of set up the contrast - great words in the speech, but enraged campaigners. nt |

3. I thought his speech was terrible. |
|
And, of course, his supporters are scum.
But, the speech seemed to allude to the fact that the record turnout of AAs was the only reason Barack won. I found that disgusting.

Everyone keeps saying his speech was gracious. I thought it was patronizing.

I'm sad about it today. I hope the pointlessness and injustice of what happened, that rights were taken away for no reason, will glare at people and the issue will finally tip in our direction. I hope.

4. keep that image in mind when you meet any freeper |
|
on the street. They fight dirty, and they aren't finished yet. They would rather take down Obama's presidency and ruin this country than admit defeat to that one. that black man.

5. Yes, I really think they incited hate with their campaign, and then .. |
|
Contrast THAT booing with the cheers and applause the people in Chicago gave John McCain.

6. McCain and Palin are to blame. They lit up the racism fire this campaign. I will not forgive them |
|
God help them because they'll go down in history as despicable and immoral.

Of course they're booing "the muslim terrorist marxist". This is the evil that you have wrought, John.

15. To me, it was as if he was saying,"Let's keep it down now, I want to look good |
|
for this speech"... He is a professional lier, and very good at it. the crowd last night wil;l be the backbone of what will develop from the remains of the GOP - rich slime.

12. Contrast it with Obama's crowd |
|
When Obama mentioned McCains service to the nation, there was a heart felt applause from the people there. Republicans just have no class.

14. People in the crowd around me at Grant Park were respectful of McCain. |
|
We watched McCain on the Jumbotron. The crowd listened and clapped when McCain spoke. One person near me said it was the best speech McCain ever gave, and meant it honestly.

17. C-SPAN callers after Obama won... |
|
...were still seething hatred: first someone insisting he wasn't born in the U.S. and will be kicked out of office once a lawsuit goes to the Supreme Court (?) and then someone, as usual, claiming he is a Muslim. At least on the second claim, the moderator corrected him.
These people will remain as reprehensible as they showed themselves to be throughout the campaign.
