You can check to see how your state did, relative to the past 4 elections. I'm really proud of how high a percentage my state of NY voted for Barack. Here in NY I think our percentage of Obama voters is tied for 3rd place, even higher than California and a little higher than Illinois. From what I can see, it looks like Vermont had the highest percentage at 67%, followed by Rhode Island at 63, and NY, Mass, and Delaware at 62.

If you hold your cursor over each state, it will show the percentage not only of this election, but of the last 4 elections. For example, New York's percentage of voters voting for Obama this year was higher than for the previous 4 elections, as is the case for almost all of the states.

Red state DU'ers...Most of you also have something to be proud of with your state. Hold the cursor over your state, and most of you will find a nice improvement in the percentage of people voting Democratic this year. For example, in the deep red state of Utah, 35% of the voters voted for Obama, which is the highest percentage of voters voting Democrat over the last 4 election cycles for that state. I think there are only 4 states that voted a lower percentage for the Democratic candidate this year than in one of the previous 4 election cycles, including Arkansas, Arizona, Wyoming, and Tennessee. I believe this year's dubious honor of lowest percentage voting for the good guy goes to Wyoming.

To find out how much your state improved, go here and put the cursor on your state:

1. In Texas, we won some and lost some big ones.
Prop 2 went down in Austin. That one was
SO needed.

Nick Lampson lost Delay's old seat that
went Reep again.. that's Sugarland.

All in all, Dems made modest statehouse
gains but Reeps still have a majority.

The big counties went blue, with Travis
leading the way as usual.

I SO LOVE AUSTIN!

2. I think we can write off TN, AR, and LA for 2012.
According to the link, Obama's performance in those three states was worse than any of the last three Dems. It's a small price to pay for the victories elsewhere.
