Democratic Senator Barack Obama has made his first speech as President-elect of the United States after defeating rival John McCain.

He told supporters in Chicago: "Change has come to America".

It will become one for the annals so long as he is able to govern with as much clarity and integrity as he conveys.

3. He delivered it with no notes, no teleprompter
I went to bed thinking about that speech, and woke up thinking about it, his clarity and the confidence and hope he inspires.

I heard him give the speech on the radio last night, and assumed it was something he was reading, but seeing him here made it even more remarkable. What a gift he is sharing with us all.

I especially liked his words for his wife....and the way he almost smiles when he says things, like he's sometimes tickling his own funny bone when he says certain things.

What a treasure!
