Literally 24 hours ago I was as angry as I've ever been - at certain friends, family members, politicians and pundits. I wanted to impeach, imprison, humiliate. I was ready to march to Washington. I was ready for the next Civil War.
Today, nothing. The anger has completely melted away. All eight years of it.
I think I now have a better understanding of the nature of my anger.
It was never about what they thought of me, or us. It was never about their fascist intentions. Or the lies. Or the theft. Their beliefs, fear and hatred.
It was the fact that they used these tools to stand in the way of progress. That they caused suffering while the rest of humanity struggles with ancient and ongoing goal to end it.
They're now irrelevant, and there's no need to pay them another second of attention. They're not standing in our way anymore. We can move forward.

The people took it back this time.

Torture is ongoing. The election didn't change that.
Our Congress is leaving the massive power of the American presidency in the hands of self-confessed war criminals. The election didn't change that.
If Bush and Cheney are allowed an honorable exit, their tiny fascist faction will remain incredibly powerful. There is nothing to stop them from re-grouping and re-emerging.
In the end, it wasn't the fascists who broke the nation. It was the surrender of the anti-fascists that did us in.
Without impeachment, that declaration of surrender stands. Without impeachment we remain a nation that approves torture.
We are Citizens; Not Subjects. It is not for Barak Obama to "restore" our law. When government officials abuse power to corrupt ends, it is up to us to assert our sovereign authority by calling on Congress -- the Voice of the People -- to impeach and remove the violators.
We've got 12 weeks. Plenty of time.
Impeachment never was about anger at "them." It is, and always was, about us. We fight to defend our Constitution and preserve our self-esteem as Americans.

6. Not talking about changing the things we have to do... |
|
just the emotions that motivate it. Impeachment is unlikely, but there's plenty of criminal charges to bring them up on.

Just cause we won ?
They still tried to steal the election, this should make you angry.
They tried to take our votes...and should die for that crime. Go find your anger.

8. The fix is jail the offenders. |

We already asked them nicely to stop CRUSHING OUR FUCKING DEMOCRACY ...it's time to eliminate them.
They might have to die. we need to face that. after all, the civil war was a last resort.
