Don't Sweat Palin - Her Political Career Is Over
Palin believes she is a viable Republican property. She is not.

She falsely assumes that she can vault straight into national politics in 2012, but she has no clue what it took for McCain to get to the convention, nor does she understand that her being included on the ticket was a tremendous shortcut onto the national stage.

From her madcap shopping sprees - reported to be even more outrageous than the initial $150,000 - to her willingness to spew hate from every orifice, to her questionable ethics as governor, to her ego-driven quest for more and more power, Palin is beyond pathetic.

What she thinks of herself is obvious. And she will remain blind to what she truly is, and will assume in 2-3 years she can simply march back onto the stage and pick up where she left off.

That's one disappointment I'd love to have a ticket to watch...

5. My five year prediction for Palin still stands:
Greeter at the Wasilla WalMart by day, proprietor of her own MILF website by night. Maybe a reality TV show in there, somewhere.

6. I think you are right. Palin did too much damage within the republican party.
Palin divided the republicans among themselves.

Maybe William Kristol will hire Palin to carry his bags. Or perhaps she could coach a high school basketball team or hockey team.

7. Good riddance to her. And she can take her whiny voice and wimpy husband with her.
What a spectacle she was! Big bouffant hair, squeeky, whiny voice that had the same effect as fingernails on a chalk board to many, her studly looking but (in reality) very wimpy husband, the expensive wardrobe that looked cheap to me, etc., etc., etc.

Good riddance to all!

When you combine all that with the loss, the ethics issues, the abuse of power issues, her extreme right wing views, the pregnant unwed teenager, the questions on who paid to build her house, she's dead politically. And her popularity back home has dropped dramatically now that Alaskans know more about her. Palin has a difficult road ahead, one that she alone has rightfully earned.

I wonder if she's ever considered that sex education and encouraging the use of condoms could have allowed her daughter to not be confronted with the difficulties of parenthood at such a young age?

17. Limbaugh is part of the social wing of the Party that supported her
So of course he would say that. Sadly, he's too stupid to realize the rest of the country sees past her bullshit.

11. Someone wrote the other day that Palin is a culture warrior like the
ones they had in the 1920s (concerned with evolution and temperance) and that the day of the culture warriors then ended with the depression. People became more concerned with their own self interest that with "cultural issues". So they voted Dem.

Think of all the long term issues like energy self sufficiency, the economy, the environment etc.. Hopefully the day of the cultural warrior has passed again.

let's hope it's over - for now. But with prop 8 in California passing yesterday, it still feels like the war continues...

13. Might not she be the new senator from Alaska?
After she appoints herself to fill Ted's likely soon-to-be empty seat.

19. I agree
One day soon she'll realize that while she was very attractive to the wingnut base of the pubs, moderates and independents actually want someone with a functioning brain.

20. Depends entirely on the direction the GOP wants to take...
...if GOP wants to hunker down and go to the right after hammering Obama for 4 years, she's their gal n 2012. She's been handpicked by Kristol and the neocons to be ready for just that. That's what she is, Bush on steroids, and she'll be in the wings if she's needed.

On the other hand, if the GOP decides to move to the middle, she's not got a prayer. They will look at Jindal or others.

22. OMG
If she thinks she is the parties future boy does she have another thing coming. By the time the McCain camp is finished destroying her you won't be able to hire her as a moose catcher. Of course the exception is the religious right wing nut jobs that might get her to run. But if I were them I would think twice. She is an expensive little hillbilly.
