You Americans and your beautiful, in-love first couple keep making the whole world cry. The woman at the check-out

counter said she cried last night and stated tearing up as we talked about it, my apartment manager said the same

thing and her eyes started glistening at the recollection of President Obama's speech ("I could listen to him for

hours" she said). Friends who seldom talk politics have phoned me today (knowing i've been an avid Obama fan), even

my 84 year old mother, who bet me $10 Obama wouldn't win because of the deep racism in America, phoned to say how

happy she was for the Americans, and actually relieved that she lost the bet.

Alongside of the birth of my 3 children, this has been the happiest event of my life.
